National Scientific Olympiad and Sheikh al‑Raees Educational Technologies Festival
GMU student team—Hanieh Babapour, Rezvan Yavari Moqaddam, and Mohammad Tamaddon—won the Gold Medal in the Special Section of the 15th National Medical Olympiad for the project “Iran Morning Report Registration System (IRMR)”.

Scientific Olympiad (2014 / 1393)
Two GUMS medical students — Mona Karimzadeh (Silver) and Arezoo Parsapour (Bronze) — won medals in the Basic Sciences field at the 6th National Medical Students’ Olympiad, held September 6–10 (15–19 Shahrivar 1393) at the Razi Conference Center, Iran University of Medical Sciences, competing among 48 medical universities nationwide.
Outstanding Student Festival (2023 / 1402)
Ali Motamadsanaei, a professional doctoral student in medicine at GUMS, was officially recognized as one of Iran’s outstanding students during the 30th National Exemplary Student Festival, attended by the Minister of Health and university presidents.
Motahari Educational Festival (2024 / 1403)
According to the Ministry of Health’s news service (Webda), the educational project titled “Implementation of the First Post‑Accreditation Institutional Monitoring System for Teaching Hospitals,” developed by Dr. Reza Esmaeili, Dr. Abdoljavād Khajavi, and Dr. Zohreh Abdi Moghaddam of
Gonabad University of Medical Sciences (GUMS), won first place nationwide in the category of Educational Management and Leadership at the 18th Shahid Motahari Educational Festival.
During the closing ceremony — held concurrently with the 26th National Congress on Medical Education and the 7th Student Festival of Innovative Educational Ideas — the award plaque was presented to Dr. Reza Esmaeili by Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian, President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, on behalf of the project team, recognizing GUMS’s pioneering achievement in national medical education leadership and quality development.
